Engineers David Dewis and Nicholas Knoetze, part of the Thew and McCann product development team, have recently returned from performing short-circuit testing of aluminium cable. This cable is used in the company's range of portable earthing systems, which are designed to protect electricity workers. According to Mr Knoetze, at their peak, Thew and McCann cables are exposed to almost 72,000 amps of electrical current.
