AVS assessments are based on non-invasive and non-destructive methods (TMXScan) and allow the user to assess seriveability on the basis of actual pole loadings. Hand-held devices are used by field inspectors for data capture and analysis, and desktop design of existing, new or replacement structure can be carried out without the need for site visits by engineers. Full compliance with Australian Standards AS 4676 and ESAA C(b) 1 is assured. The BEST system is objective, reproducible and accurate, and eliminates all subjectivity from structure assessment. Baseline inspection with TMXScan can be undertaken by line inspectors at no greater cost than current work systems. Data capture and residual structure strength quantification with the AVS system give asset managers a comprehensive understanding of the serviceability of either a single structure or group of structures. The AVS system allows in-depth analysis of any number of structures from a single pole up to an entire distribution system. Moreover, the system is comprehensive, with AVS being able to provide all training, mentoring, audit, data analysis and support services.
