FUNDING ANNOUNCEMENT STAGGERS INDUSTRY

The sustainable energy industry is staggered by the Federal Government's decision to discontinue funding the hugely important Australian Co-operative Research Centre for Renewable Energy (ACRE). The decision follows the Prim Minister's announcement recently that sustainable development had been identified as one Australia's research priorities. It also follows the successful co-operative research efforts that have occurred between government, industry and universities through ACRE.
