Mexico K-factors rise to US, Europe for May

Mexico K-factors for May crude oil shipments to the US and Europe rose this week. The K-factor, Pemex’s monthly adjustment to Mexico’s official crude formula prices, for heavy sour Maya crude shipped to the US Gulf rose from a $2.75/bl discount in April to a $1.80/bl discount in May. This reflects a larger trend seen in Latin American heavy grades that has narrowed crude discounts in response to ample buying interest. Medium sour Isthmus crude and light sweet Olmeca for delivery to the US Gulf meanwhile rose by 70￠/bl and 50￠/bl, respectively, from April to May.
