Emissions rules may curb Indian coke growth

A fresh emphasis on environmental protection in India may put the brakes on the recent surge in Indian petroleum coke demand. India’s National Green Tribunal, which has jurisdiction over environmental matters, is reviewing an application that calls for a ban on the use of petroleum coke because of its high carbon dioxide, sulphur and particulate matter emissions.
