Marathon Petroleum reported shutting down a gasoline- producing unit earlier this week at its 475,000 b/d refinery in Texas City, Texas. The company will decommission fuid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit No. 1 as part of an ongoing refin- ery improvement project that will integrate the 475,000 b/d facility with Marathon Petroleum’s neighbouring 80,000 b/d refinery. Emissions associated with the shutdown will occur within a seven-day window beginning 30 May, according to a fling to state environmental regulators.
