Anglo American thermal coal production falls

UK-South African mining company Anglo American reported that thermal coal production fell by 21pc in the fourth quarter following strikes in South Africa and weather-related production shut-ins in Colombia. Fourth-quarter output fell by over 20pc or 3.84mn t year on year to 15.02mn t. Thermal coal production in the final quarter of 2015 fell by 13pc, or a 2.26mn t quarter-on-quarter decline.
