Alumina seeks clarity on Alcoa joint venture

Australia-listed frm Alumina Ltd is seeking to clarify the terms of its Australian joint venture with US aluminium producer Alcoa, in light of Alcoa’s plan to split its upstream and down- stream assets into two separate companies. Alcoa and Alumina are 60:40 partners in the Alcoa World Alumina and Chemicals (Awac) joint venture. They have been in talks since late last year about the implications for Awac of the Alcoa demerger, which was announced in September.
