Ontario seeks to reduce cement emissions

Ontario plans to make signifcant investments in reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transportation and stationary sources and adopt other measures to complement its new cap- and-trade program. The province’s Liberal Party-led government last week described how it intends to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through 2020. The plan includes a mix of incentives that will be funded by cap-and-trade revenues along with new stand-alone regulations, including a renewable fuel standard for gasoline.
