A Missouri court has rejected a contract between Noranda Aluminum’s bauxite subsidiary and Texas-based Sherwin Alumina, both of which filed for bankruptcy protection in the first quarter of the year. In its first court motion after declaring chapter 11 bankruptcy in January, Sherwin petitioned the bankruptcy court to sustain a contract that Noranda Bauxite Limited (NBL) claimed would lose it $16.5mn in 2016 under current terms.
