Lightweight metals producer Alcoa said yesterday it is restarting its Texarkana, Texas, casthouse to meet automotive industry demand for aluminium. Slabs produced at the Texas plant are to be converted into aluminium sheet at the company’s recently expanded automotive facility in Davenport, Iowa, and its rolling mill in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
