Indian October refinery runs rise

Indian refineries processed 4.52mn b/d of crude in October, up by 4.2pc from a year earlier and exceeding state-set targets. The figure compares with 4.39mn b/d in September, according to oil ministry data. Production of oil products in April-October, the first seven months of the year ending March 2015, declined by 1.7pc from a year earlier to 4.38mn b/d. This was 1.8pc short of state-set targets, according to the oil ministry. Refinery utilisation was 104.7pc in October, compared with 100.4pc a year earlier. Indian refineries typically declare utilisation rates of more than 100pc after under-reporting their nameplate capacity.
