South China increases share of 2015 coal imports

South China’s share of the country’s overall thermal coal imports gained ground in 2015, with its import volumes declining at a slower pace compared with the rest of the country. Shipments to China’s southern provinces of Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian and Hainan accounted for 65pc of the country’s total thermal coal imports this year, up from 60pc in 2014.
