Illinois basin coal producers make good on cuts

Illinois basin coal producers followed through on promises of output cuts late last year, US Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) data show. Annual basin production declined for the first time in at least a decade, to 123.9mn short tons (112.4mn t) from 137.2mn st in 2014. It was the lowest level of output since 2011.
