1. A coking unit malfunctioned over the weekend at Citgos 425,000 b/d refinery in Lake Charles, Louisiana. A heavy gas oil pump on the unit failed, increasing emissions from the equipment beginning at about 11pm ET on 27 August, according to a filing to federal emergency response monitors. A representative for the company, the US refining subsidiary of Venezuelan state-owned oil firm PdV, could not be immediately reached for comment.
