Turkish coal prices drop

Prices for South African coal delivered to Turkey dropped by around $3/t to $67/t cif Iskenderun last week, prompting some limited fresh interest from buyers. A Turkish utility purchased one Capesize cargo of South African coal in the low $60s/t on a cif basis from a traderproducer with excess supply. South African producers have accumulated large stockpiles at Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) as demand from India continues to fall, encouraging offers to Turkish buyers at lower prices.
