The recent launch of the Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies (CO2CRC) has been welcomed by the Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association (APPEA). APPEA described the official launch of the centre as a major step towards providing scientific certainty in delivering long-term abatement of greenhouse gas emissions". Welcoming the launch, APPEA executive director Barry Jones said, "Companies in the upstream oil and gas industry will be heavily involved in the work of the CO2CRC in collaboration with the scientific and academic community, governments and industry.
