Large volumes of Canadian crude propped up falling overall import volumes to US refners and storage in January. Roughly 3.2mn b/d of Canadian crude, or 45pc of all crude imports for the month, kept fows from the country at nearrecord levels, according to Energy Information Administration data released on 30 March. Flows from the country to US customers dropped from a record 3.3mn b/d in December.
