Nothing Cures High Prices Like High Price

Purvin & Gertz recently completed a study for the Alberta government,as well as a number of industry participants,concerning the potential to upgrade bitumen to light synthetic crude and then further to refined products and petrochemicals.The study shows that there is good potential in this idea,but there are a number of hurdles to overcome such as cost,timing,market access,etc.If these hurdles are overcome,then the idea could be profitable and there would be lots of economic spinoffs for the province.A second phase of the study is underway to assess individual business cases and commercial opportunities.There is always room for more participation in the study and we would be happy to provide more details to any potential participants.
