Brazil needs two new oil refineries: regulator

Brazil’s fuel imports will skyrocket by more than 270pc to 1.21mn b/d in 2030 from 323,000 b/d in 2015 unless it builds two new refineries, Magda Chambriard, director general of oil regulator ANP, said today. Her remarks appear to revive discarded proposals for statecontrolled Petrobras to build large greenfield refineries, but not necessarily with the company’s participation.
