The Australian Energy Market Operator's (AEMO) National Electricity Forecasting Report confirms that peak demand for electricity is still rising across all five States in the National Electricity Market (NEM), namely New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria, according to the Energy Networks Association (ENA). "Across the NEM, there is an estimated $11 billion of network infrastructure which has been built to service maximum peak demand which occurs for the equivalent of four days a year," ENA CEO Malcolm Roberts stated.
