The International Trade Commission (ITC) has launched a study that will investigate the causes of aluminium production overcapacity around the world and other factors affecting US industry at the request of the Ways and Means Committee of the House of Representatives. The report will look into areas such as production increases and government policies that affect wrought and unwrought aluminium output, but will make no policy recommendations. The ITC will hold a public hearing on 29 September and expects to deliver the full report to the committee by 24 June 2017.
