Coke prices rise further

Petroleum coke prices rose over the past week, supported by an ongoing lack of available cargoes. Some Turkish cement buyers have cancelled tenders be- cause they deemed the offers too high, instead sourcing from distributors or waiting in the hope that supply will improve. Demand from Indian cement makers remains strong, which has driven up cfr prices there as well as supporting fob prices for US 6.5pc sulphur coke, in spite of a rise in freight rates.
