Hovensa refinery sale deadline extended

Hovensa has extended a deadline to sell its mothballed 500,000 b/d refinery in the US Virgin Islands to 30 August. The US Virgin Islands government and Hovensa agreed in November 2013 that the sale of the facility to a third party would be completed by 15 August. Hovensa, a joint venture between Venezuela’s state-owned PdV and US independent Hess, hired financial advisor Lazard to manage the sale.
