Hovensa agrees to attempt sale

US Virgin Islands oil storage terminal operator Hovensa has reached an agreement with the territory’s government to try to sell its shuttered 350,000 b/d refinery site. Hovensa is conducting an “administrative review” of the agreement, and it is not known when the deal will be signed and returned to the government, the company said. The Virgin Islands government has signed the agreement, which will be sent to the territory’s senate for ratification once it is signed by Hovensa, a joint venture between US integrated oil company Hess and Venezuela’s state-run oil company PdV.
