TRANSCANADA BIDS TO BUILD ALASKA PIPELINE

Five companies,partnerships and entities - including Calgary-based TransCanada Corporation in partnership with Foothills Pipe Line Ltd.,its wholly owned subsidiary - have submitted proposals to build a 30-biliion natural gas pipeline to connect northern Alaska with the continental United States,it was announced in early December.
