With global demand rising every day, electrical energy generation remains the largest single contributor to the world's carbon dioxide emissions, causing a significant - and negative - impact on climate change. In a bid to curb this usage, engineers are continually re-designing our appliances, entertainment systems and electronics, replacing older, power-hungry products with 'smarter', 'greener' offerings.
