The result is an increase in the hospital's power generation ability while at the same time recording substantial savings in operating costs and space requirements. The multi-million dollar upgrade involves the installation of two new MTU 20V4000 Common Rail engines, each coupled to an 11 kVa AVK alternator capable of generating 3100 kVa. These MTU units have been installed alongside the three original power generation systems that were installed ten years ago.
