US coke exports to India, Mediterranean jump

US green petroleum coke exports were up by 7pc in the frst quarter from a year earlier, as purchases from India and the Mediterranean region offset declines in exports to the rest of Asia. Of the 8.2mn t the US shipped in the frst three months of the year, India took 1.66mn t, 40pc more than the 1.18mn t it took in the frst quarter in 2015. But exports to other major Asia-Pacifc coke consumers slipped.
