The midwest premium for primary aluminium was unchanged this week as near-term purchasing of metal was slow, but exchange prices were still conducive to financing deals. The premium stayed at $176-181/t this week while London Metal Exchange cash aluminium settled at $1,611/t today, down from $1,642/t a week earlier.
