Chinas major coal producing province of Shanxi will shut around 10.6mn t/yr of coal capacity by October. The provincial coal industry bureau has listed 12 mines with a combined production capacity of 8.65mn t/yr that were scheduled for closure in August. The bureau also listed a 600,000t/yr mine that will be closed in September and two mines with a combined capacity of 1.35mn t/yr that must be shut in October.
