Aluminium output seen lagging behind demand surge

Global aluminium demand growth this decade will be the highest in 50 years at the same time that production is declining as a result of high energy costs, analyst firm Harbor Aluminum Intelligence Unit said. Harbor’s conservative estimate of aluminium demand growth for the rest of this decade is 6pc/yr, a bigger percentage growth than any of the prior four decades.
