YOUNG WOMEN IN ENERGY CHANGING THE FACE OF ENERGY

Attracting more women to work in the industry is crucial now, and in the future. It's not just about creating a more diverse workforce, but vital to continue serving the world's increasing energy needs. To fix the problem, a solution to this imbalance has to be found. The perception needs to change and the industry as a whole must make women aware of available opportunities. Young Women in Energy (YWE) is a non-profit organization based in Calgary, Alta. YWE was founded in 2013 to champion the interests of young women working in energy, said Katie Smith. Smith manages proposals for the Process Systems and Solutions Business Unit at Spartan Controls.
