US service centre shipments of aluminium products rose by 3.8pc in June from a year earlier while the months’ supply of inventory on hand fell. Shipments of aluminium products rose to 143,000 net tons (nt) (129,700 t) in June from 137,800t a year earlier, the Metals Service Center Institute said. Inventories rose by 3.1pc to 397,200t, equal to 2.8 months’ supply, which was down from 3.0 months in May.
