Structures and selection of wire ropes for elevators

In the elevator installations, wire ropes are used to suspend the cars and the counterweights. Wire ropes hand lay. Service life of elevator ropes depends on a in elevators are of round stranded and usually number of factors such as wrap angle and lubrication. In this study types and structures of wire ropes are examined and compared. Then selection of elevator wire ropes is explained and service life of ropes is discussed in accordance with the standards.
