Japan’s coke imports fall in September

Japan cut imports of petroleum coke in September by 17pc to 503,418mt from 606,725mt a year earlier, after it had boosted procurements over the previous month. Japan’s petroleum coke imports from the US fell by 20.9pc to 413,216mt from a year ago, according to the country’s finance ministry. Canadian supply also declined by 2.8pc to 69,297mt in the same comparison. The falls outstripped a 63.1pc rise in imports from China to 20,905mt on the year.
