摘要

Keith Ringland is one of the few people on Earth who knows how hard it is to take photos of genuinely wild Scottish wildcats. For 10 years, he's endured freezing nights and lonely vigils in his quest - these are his results. In the mid-1980s, I madefriends with some farmers in the Perthshire and Angus hills who intrigued me with their stories about wildcats. I became determined to observe these animals in the wild, but despite countless early mornings, success eluded me. On extremely rare occasions, I caught sight of a stripy cat crossing the road in front of my car, but I couldn't be sure that what I had seen was a wildcat, and my quest was becoming an increasingly soul-destroying pursuit.
