HVAC: Plug-and-play option brings NHS cost benefits

When East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust in the UK faced the possibility of having to install a completely new condensate recovery unit for its pumps, it approached a UK centrifugal pump manufacturer, who came up with an alternative that led to estimated savings of more than 80 for the Trust. Cost savings are always uppermost in the minds of those running NHS Trusts in the UK and, like most of the 2,000 NHS hospitals in the country, a condensate recovery unit (CRU) is an integral part of the hospital's heating system.
