ATHABASCA OIL SANDS RAISES RESOURCE ESTIMATES

Based on the results of a recently completed independent reserve and resource evaluation, Athabasca Oil Sands Corp. has increased its company gross resource volumes by approximately 20% to 8.71 billion barrels, compared to the estimates (pro forma the completion of AOSC's transaction with PetroChina International Investment Company Limited) set out in the company's 2009 year-end reserves report.
