Pursuing Fire from Ice-Natural Gas Hydrates Research in NWT

A seven-member international partnership recently completed groundbreaking research in the Northwest Territories on natural gas hydrates-ice-like substances composed of water and natural gas or methane that form in low temperatures and under high pressure. Many reservoirs are associated with deep permafrost of certain Arctic sedimentary basins and in marine sediments in coastal zones.
