Soil analyses results obtained by a professional, accredited laboratory provide the turf grower or developer with precise information on the chemical and physical properties of the growing medium.Whilst much can be gathered from a visual assessment ofa sample, and a basic hand textural analysis can classify the general characteristics of the material, the "results" are very limited and not the basis for any final decisions on its suitability for purpose.The physical examination of a sample reveals nothing of the chemical make-up or attributes, which will ultimately influence grass growth and turf performance.
