Air Products Inks Liquid CO2 Supply Deal with U.S. Midwest Ethanol Producer

Air Products announced January 6 that it signed a longterm agreement for the production of liquid carbon dioxide (CO2) with Boyceville, Wisc.-based ethanol producer Big River Resources Boyceville LLC. Air Products intends to operate a facility that will be capable of producing 250 tons per day (tpd) of liquid CO2 sourced from the site of Big River Resources’ ethanol plant and sell the liquid CO2 to the food and beverage markets. The liquid CO2 plant is expected to begin production in early 2014, according to Air Products.
