UPM, VTT Launch Fleet Tests of Wood- Based Renewable Diesel Using Volkswagen Cars

Finland-based pulp/paper producer UPM announced April 26 that it launched fleet tests with VTT Technical Research Center to test wood-based renewable diesel in vehicle fleet testing using Volkswagen (VV-Auto Group) cars. The biofuel will be produced by UPM, the fleet tests will be coordinated by VTT and the cars will be supplied by VV-Auto Group, according to a statement issued by UPM, adding that fleet tests with UPM’s renewable diesel – coined “UPM BioVerno” – will begin this month, “lasting several months,” the statement noted.
