Proposed CAFE Standards Could Threaten Biofuels Industry

A coalition of agriculture and biofuels interest groups, led by the 25x’25 Alliance, filed late comments with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on June 28 in an effort to bring light to an aspect within the agencies’ proposed corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) standards that they believe could hamper the U.S. biofuels industry and pose a significant risk to the nation’s agricultural bio-based economy.
