TWO laboratory experiments were conducted to study. I. The movement of nitrogen forms released from different N-sources (U, AS, AN, UF, TCU, SCU and IBDU) applied with or without organic manure and nitrification inhibitor application under intermittent leaching. 2. NH3-volatiiization from different N-sources, (U, AS and mtroform) with or without nitrification inhibitor using sandy and calcareous soils. Under intermittent leaching, results show that the addition of nitrification inhibitor (DCD) in thepresence of organic manure slightly affected the transformation of ammonium to nitrate due to the adsorption of the inhibitor on the adsorptive sites of organic manure. Urea formaldehyde material showed a regular leaching of N forms compared to anotherones. The residual available N-forms were greatly affected by the source of N and the combination of nitrification inhibitor with or without organic manure addition. NH_3- loss was the greatest from different N sources applied to calcareous soil compared to the sandy one. On the other hand, the loss was greater with Nitroform as a slow-release fertilizer incalcareous soil compared with, the same fertilizer in the sandy one.
