INVISTA, U.K.’s CPI Collaborate on Gas-Based, Bio-Derived Process Technology

Wichita, Kan.-based global polymer and fiber manufacturer INVISTA, a Koch Industries subsidiary, announced December 10 that it forged a collaboration agreement with the U.K.’s Center for Process Innovation (CPI) to develop new technologies that enable gasfermentation-based processes for the production of industrial biochemicals. The collaboration “will leverage INVISTA’s capabilities in biotechnology and catalysis, and knowledge of the chemicals industry, along with CPI’s applied knowledge in science and engineering and capabilities in new process/product development and scale-up for the development of new gasfermentation-based routes to industrial chemicals,” according to a statement issued by INVISTA.
