EIA: U.S. Ethanol Production Forecast to Average 910,000 b/d in 2014

U.S. ethanol production increased from an average of 825,000 barrels per day (b/d) in December 2012 to 949,000 b/d during December 2013 and is forecast to average 910,000 b/d during 2014, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO) issued March 11. Meanwhile, U.S. biodiesel production, which averaged 64,000 b/d (1 billion gallons per year) in 2012, rose to 104,000 b/d (135 million gallons) in December 2013, 7 million gallons higher than in November, according to the report.
