Statoil Unit, SkyNRG Team to Develop Bio-Jet Fuel Supply Chain in Nordic Region

The Netherlands-based aviation biofuel marketer SkyNRG announced March 4 that it partnered with Statoil Fuel & Retail Aviation AS, a unit of Norwegian oil firm Statoil ASA, to accelerate the demand for and supply of sustainable aviation biofuel in the Nordic region. In the short-term, SkyNRG, backed by Air France-KLM Group, will work with Statoil to develop so-called “BioPorts” – a trademarked name given by SkyNRG to denote regional supply chains that are capable of converting local waste streams into aviation biofuel and which are competitive with petroleum-derived kero-jet.
