USDA Lowers Projected 2013-2014 U.S. Corn Crop Yield at 13.8 Billion Bushels

Projected U.S. corn production for the 2013/2014 harvest is lowered 187 million bushels to 13.8 billion bushels with the first survey-based corn yield forecast, at 154.4 bushels per acre, down 2.1 bushels from last month’s projection, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) World Agriculture Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report released August 12.
