Association between myocarditis and other immune-related adverse events secondary to immune checkpoint inhibitor use

Dear Sir, Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have markedly improved progression-free and overall survival in multiple advanced cancers.1 4 Myocarditis is the most dreaded complication of ICI therapy because it carries a 50 mortality.5’6 As ICI therapy use has increased, so has the incidence of myocarditis. Currently, there are no apparent risk factors to help predict the likelihood of this complication, making early diagnosis and prevention chai-lenging. ’ The purpose of our study is to investigate whether the presence of other immune-related adverse events (irAEs) can help identify patients at increased risk for myocarditis.
